DOOR OF HOPE

A project of Hope Movement Budapest

Our mission is to open doors of hope. Through one-on-one discipleship and practical support, we come alongside individuals impacted by sexual exploitation or vulnerable to trafficking. Through creating and sharing resources, we challenge mindsets that permit exploitation and strengthen the global anti-trafficking movement.

THE REALITY

  • An estimated 62% of trafficking in the European Union is for sexual exploitation.

  • In Europe, 90% of prostituted people are women and girls — and an estimated 75% of them are between the ages of 13 and 25 years old.

  • Prostitution has a mortality rate 10 to 40 times higher than the average.

  • Hungary ranks third in Europe for its number of sex trafficking victims.

  • One out of every five victims of prostitution in Europe is Hungarian.

  • Budapest is referred to as the “Euro Capital of Porn.”

The Team

  • pst. Joshua & shilan lupemba

  • emily la bianca

For seven years, she served with Alabaster Jar, an anti-trafficking outreach project in Berlin, Germany, including two and a half years as project leader, and met hundreds of Central & Eastern European women in Berlin’s red light district and brothels. Her heart burns to see a mass exodus of women out of sexual exploitation and into freedom.
